Our group’s namesake member, the HSA Ltd., a temporary agency and recruitment company, has obtained certified employer status, becoming the first to comply with the stricter regulations for temporary agencies.
At the beginning of 2024, a newly introduced executive order tightened the conditions for importing foreign labor to protect the interests of Hungarian workers. Among the new requirements is the increase in the statistical headcount of leased labor from 500 to 1,000, of which at least 500 must be Hungarian workers. Additionally, the certified leasing category requires that at least 30 percent of new recruitments must also be Hungarian. Certified employers can only operate under these stricter conditions. HSA Ltd. is the first HR service provider in Hungary to obtain certified temporary agency status under this new, stricter regulatory environment. Our group’s namesake has been a key player in the domestic labor market for over two decades, and thanks to the certification, it can continue its work on an even larger scale.
“Two years ago, we were benched without any warning, but we didn’t give up and fought to get back into the starting lineup. With this certification, that has now happened. It’s a difficult situation when the coach doesn’t select the starting lineup based on professional criteria, but the success is all the sweeter when you perform at such a high level that it overrides subjectivity,” remarked László Mátyás, founder of HSA Group and HSA, in connection with the certification.
In addition to the certification, there have been two personnel changes within the group: László Mátyás, founder of HSA Group Zrt., is stepping down from his leadership positions. He stated that the group needs new energy to further strengthen its position in the sector.
“Obtaining the certification was my last dance. For some time now, I’ve been contemplating stepping back, but it was my determined goal to hand over the leadership of both HSA Group and HSA under orderly conditions,” said László Mátyás, who became the president of the MELÓ-DIÁK Debrecen School Cooperative in 1995, which merged into the MELÓ-DIÁK Alföld School Cooperative in 1999. In 2000, he founded the HSA temporary agency and recruitment company, which over the years has grown into the leading labor market player in Eastern Hungary. Numerous innovations are associated with his name, including the introduction of simplified employment in an organized form for the first time in the country, and he was also a pioneer in the employment of third-country nationals in Hungary.
In the future, the position of CEO of HSA Group Zrt. will be held by Erika Dékány, who previously served as the group’s chief financial officer for two decades. She brings nearly 30 years of leadership experience and extensive financial knowledge. HSA Ltd. will also have a new managing director, Dávid Varga, who started working for the group 12 years ago as a student worker. He climbed the ranks, first as a project manager, then as an branch manager, and from 2022, as a regional manager.
